I am really excited to announce a new weekly series on Daily Crush that I have been planning for quite some time. Let me explain. My parents met in Newport, Rhode Island 25 years ago, they both grew up spending their summers in Newport with their families. When I was younger my parents bought a home of our own there. For years we would leave Boston the day we got out of school for summer vacation and spend every day there until the night before our first day and I loved every minute of it. I have been so spoiled spending my summers in such a beautiful place filled with history, lots to do, and my amazing extended family. My parents bought a plot of land a few months ago and are in the process of choosing an architect to build a new house.

I am starting this series with the hope of sharing ideas, inspiration, plans and progress being made. From foundation to furnishing, and everything in between. I plan on dedicating every thursday from now until the house is furnished, blogging about everything from pergolas to porches to pillows and pools. Right now we are in the very early stages of planning. And when I say early I mean we are still trying to choose a "look." They have narrowed it down to three styles:cedar shingle style, british colonial and french pavilion style. Today, I am sharing a few photos of exteriors that I love. They happen to all be white, and fairly traditional. I look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months!

Have you seen the Tibi spring line? I promise it does not disappoint. Designer Amy Smilovic said her Spring 2012 collection is “about modernizing and refreshing the 90s silhouette with streamlined cuts that carry a sportswear element of drawstring details, motor jackets, track suits, and asymmetrical hems.” Her inspiration translated into a line of great colors, patterns and designs. While drooling over beautiful runway photos last weekend I felt as though I was seeing spots, literally. The polka dot patterns that hit the runway last fall are have emerged as a full-blown craze by top designers and are being worn by our favorite fashionistas. I think polka dots are flirty, retro and so chic. I am looking to add a dotted piece or two to my spring wardrobe. Today I am sharing with you a few dotted tops I have spotted.

Lucy all ready for the Mock Convention for which I served on the Executive Committee. The event was a huge success, but I have to say I am glad it is over, after months of planning I will finally have some free time to focus on a few things I have been putting aside. (She didn't really get to come but she loved dressing up as a patriotic pup).

Afternoon latte and sweet with Jake at Pistacia Vera in German Village in Columbus, Ohio. Definitely one of my favorite Columbus finds. It is like an art gallery for deserts. I had the lemon tarte and it was delish.

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT:MARA HOFFMAN

While browsing the new arrivals on shopbop this morning, Mara Hoffman's spring line quickly grabbed my attention. I only discovered this talented designer a few seasons ago when a friend of mine was wearing one of her bikinis. Hoffman is known for her colorful, bohemian style inspired by her nomadic worldly inspirations. Her spring and summer 2012 lines highlight her brilliant talent for mixing patterns inspired her collection with explorations of Egyptian ruins, creating new bold and colorful prints.

TGIF, for REAL. I have never been so ready for the weekend in my life. This week was so long and I was nonstop every waking hour. I apologize for the short blog posts but I have been consumed in endless school work, writing articles for my University's newspaper, booking my spring break trip : ), crossing a few things off my never-ending to-do list, a political convention I am helping plan, oh and starting that scary thing called a job search. I am excited and anxious to apply to different jobs and figure out where in the world I will be in a few months when I gradate from college. I am thrilled to have Shannon looking over my resumé this weekend and helping me tweak a few things. (Have you seen her blog? It is one of my new favorites!)

I have had so many questions about the Red Carpet Cleanse that I have been doing for the past three days. The cleanse is incredible. Like I said yesterday, the juices are delicious, fresh, and ridiculously satisfying. I do not want today to be the last day. Many of you commented and e-mailed asking me how I got the cleanse, it was shipped for me overnight from LA to Columbus in a cooler. It arrived on my doorstep early Wednesday morning and all of the juices were very cold. I would highly recommend this cleanse or any of the Red Carpet Cleanses to anyone looking to detox and put a ton of organic, raw and delicious fruits and veggies into their system. Bottom line:totally worth it!

Anyways, I am looking forward to a fun night out with friends tonight followed by a productive day tomorrow and of course watching the Patriots kill the Giants on Sunday in the Superbowl. Does anyone have any great recipe suggestions? Let me know!

RED CARPET CLEANSE:DAY 2

Today is day 2 of my Red Carpet Cleanse. The cleanse is amazing. All of the juices are delicious and so refreshing. I have to be honest, although I have juiced many times before, I was a little nervous I would be hungry by the end of the day after only drinking juices, but I was plenty full. I had a lot of energy (more than usual actually) and I felt great. I am on to day 2 and excited to share more later in the day.

RED CARPET CLEANSE:DAY 1

I am so excited that today is my first day the Red Carpet Cleanse. You may have seen my post about juicing a few weeks ago. Ever since I bought a juicer and started juicing regularly I have always wanted to try a custom-prepared cleanse. I considered several different cleanse companies including Organic Avenue and Blueprint, but I ended up choosing the Red Carpet Cleanse, because I have heard such rave reviews. In case you are not familiar with cleansing, cleansing is when you eliminate solid foods and drink fruit and vegetables juices. Cleansing has so many benefits. It releases toxins, promotes a sense of well-being, gives the body energy, improves skin tone, aids in weight loss and curbs sugar cravings (among many other things).

Problem. My latest social media addiction {pinterest} is taking over far too much of my free time. In case you ~~live under a rock~~ are totally out of the loop, pinterest is an online pinboard to share the your favorite images and videos from anywhere online. It also has a social networking component to it, so you can follow people and discover new things hand-picked by people who share your interests. Anyways, I have created boards of everything from jewelry to food, to quotes and DIY ideas. When I started a jewelry folder I realized my pins were very commonly rings. DAILY CRUSH ON PROJECT GADABOUT!!!

I think I have mentioned it many times but I am so excited to be the newest contributor on Project Gadabout. For my first post as a contributor, I created a how-to video. The theme for my post was the New Year, so I thought it would be fun to post about a resolution. One of my top resolutions annually is better health and vitality. So, I decided to share one of the things I do to be healthy: juicing. There are so many wonderful benefits including: maximizing your antioxidant intake, increasing anti-inflammatory nutrients, cleansing, rebuilding your cells, increasing your vitamin and mineral intake, and decreasing your risks of disease... need I say more. Hopefully, once you see how easy juicing is, you will jump on the 2012 health wagon. If you have a chance, watch the documentary, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, and see one man's medical and physical transformation as he takes a 60 day juicing journey. French designer Camille Eddera launched Eddera Jewelry in 2008. Each of her pieces are individually handmade and combines elements found in Parisian flea markets with modern designs. I wanted to be sure to share her designs with the readers of daily crush, because I thought you all would love them.

HIGHLIGHTS AND HOPES:AMBER VENZ

Happy Friday everyone! I am signing off until Monday, but before that Amber Venz is sharing with you her fabulous highlights from 2011 and hopes and resolutions for 2012.

Highlights:

The launch of rewardStyle.com and CurrentlyObsessed.me are two of the top highlights of my life thus far. rewardStyle launched in June and I have gotten to meet and work with so many incredibly talented and powerful people in the fashion industry- it has been a dream come true. Further, it was such a cool feeling release CurrentlyObsessed.me and have bloggers like Mrs. Lilien create a magnificent post about the new site, directing their readers to check it out. To get the attention and "air time" of bloggers like this gave me amazing hope for what my company is going to become.

On December 1 I moved in to a new loft with my brother (we are three years apart). This is the first time that we have lived together post-parents and I am proud to have an environment that is our own to share with our friends and significant others. Oh, and he cooks:)

I have always designed and created dresses for myself (12 to date) but this year, my friend Courtney Kerr wore one of my dresses to an event in Dallas that Bravo happened to be filming. I received a flood of emails about the dress and decided to produce them in a very limited quantity. This is the first dress I have ever designed, had produced and sold.

Hopes & Resolutions:

I have got to start drinking more water and ween myself from my Dr. Pepper addiction. I have promised to drink at least one bottle of water a day in 2012 (not a lot, I know, but we are going from zero to one, so that is a big deal).

I am hijacking my boyfriend's resolution and am going to try to be a better friend this year. I spend all of my time working (I call the company my "full-life" job) and I would like to pay more attention to the life around me and work a little less.

This is a big one. Fall 2011 was my last official collection of my jewelry line; I have decided to close my wholesale business to stores. My jewelry created an entry door into the fashion world, it is a big part of what I am known for and it allowed me to cultivate the relationships I have today. This was and is a very emotional decision, especially on the heels of a big honor, winning "Best Jewelry Designer in Dallas" by D Magazine this year; however, businesses grow and change from what they were at inception. I value my time and when something becomes more of a have to than a want to, it is time to move on. A work motto I like to live by: if you do not love it or want to do it, don't. To me, the goal in life is happiness and I hope that this decision allows me to do more of the things that I love and therefore brings me more happiness.

Today Grace from one of my favorite blogs stripes & sequins is sharing with you three of her memorable moments from the past year and three of her hopes for the new year. Tomorrow is the last day of the series featuring one of my many girl crushes Amber Venz.

This guest post series has been a little long but it has been really fun to hear about all of these talented bloggers years, dont you think? I am very grateful for each and every one of you that participated! The series has allowed me to have ample time to be on vacation, relax, do some (much needed) organization projects, a few paintings, time with family and friends, and lots of time to focus on daily crush. I can promise you some wonderful posts and new series' in 2012. My long list of new years resolutions includes several hopes and new ideas for daily crush that I am excited to share with everyone within the coming weeks.

I am excited to get back into the swing of things Monday after a few days with Emily who is visiting me in Boston from Texas and a possible ski trip this weekend! Highlights of 2011

My first trip to Sundance! It was incredible seeing my boyfriend’s films (he had two there,) and getting to meet so many of his amazing colleagues.

Jumping ship from my corporate beauty biz job and signing on at BaubleBar, where I run their social media.

My trip to Europe with the boyfriend. We went to Northern Ireland, Paris, and Rome. It was a great mix of seeing friends and having quality time together... I wish we could go back, already!

Hopes for 2012

I’m working on making all sorts of changes to the blog. It’s a constant process … I don’t know that it will ever be “perfect” in my eyes, but I can certainly do my best to get it there.

I want to invest more time into getting into shape. Between work and the blog and trying to see friends and family, I’m always so tired. But I need to invest in my health!

I need to scale back and pare down. I’ve got too much stuff. It’s time to make some tough decisions and really clean out the closet. I’m not particularly excited about it, but I know that it will be worthwhile.

Moving back home. That might sound contradictory but there's no better feeling than sleeping in your own bed and surrounding yourself with friends and family after a few months apart!

Deciding to launch my own business. This was the year of following my heart (across the country and back) and I can't wait to share what I've been working on!

My hopes for 2012:

Make it to the gym at least three times a week. I know that won't sound ambitious to some of you but I have zero motivation to leave the house when it's this chilly out!

Keep chipping away at my 101 in 1001 list. I'm making good progress but this next year's goals are a bit loftier (ahem, moving into my first apartment!).

I'm aiming to launch my business in March and I'm crossing my fingers it'll be a roaring success! I can't give away too much right now but let's just say it'll be right up Daily Crush's alley! :)

Hi y'all, I am Shannon Darrough from I Love Your Crazy. I'm overjoyed to share this year's highlights and future hopes on Daily Crush today. I cannot believe 2012 is already here! I've been listening to a beautiful version of "Auld Lang Syne" by Diane Taraz all week long. There are many translations of this classic New Year's tune, but to me the song is a toast to memories of the past year. I listen to it every December, but the song has struck a new chord this year. So many of my lifelong dreams came true in 2011. You can bet I will be raising my glass multiple times at the stroke of midnight.

Hopes for 2012:

My hopes for 2012? Goodness, this is tricky because I was so blessed in 2011. Perhaps this is the year I will start that book I've dreamed of writing since I was 11. Maybe, but this is definitely the year I will slow down just enough to enjoy the new home, celebrate my accomplishments before I move on to the next thing, and make time for friends and family. When you have three life changing events back to back to back things become a blur of excitement. If 2011 was my year for big decisions and milestone events, 2012 will be the year to take it all in and embrace those around me.I want to smell the roses in 2012.

Enjoy the view ...

and perhaps that novel awaits, too.

The new year is right around the corner! And for me that is a reminder that I need to buy new planner ASAP. I have always been the type of person that loves to make lists and have everything in my calendar even if I know I am not going to forget it. Christmas is right around the corner. Are you done with your Christmas shopping yet? I got the bulk of mine done yesterday, and when i say bulk I mean I was struggling to carry heavy massive shopping bags around the mall for hours. I have a little more to do but I am feeling more than confident that it will all be done in time to relax when everyone comes into town and is done with work and school later this week. If you know me well your probably WELL aware that one of my favorite treats is ice cream. And when I went out to Columbus for college it was not long before I discovered Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. Now, all of you ice cream lovers out there, this is not your typical ice cream shop; quite far from it actually. Your standard chocolate, vanilla and coffee are no where to be found. Jeni's sells homemade delicious creations like Salty Caramel, Queen City Cayenne (hot pepper and chocolate), and Goat Cheese with sweet berries. The shops are adorable and the people are beyond friendly. You can taste as many flavors as you wish and when you finally decide on one (or several) you will surely be pleased.

I saw recently that Jeni's created a collection of six pints that they ship to anywhere in the United States and I wanted to share it on Daily Crush. It is called the Splendid Holiday Collection: The flavors include Boozy Eggnog; Dark Chocolate Peppermint; Goat Cheese with Cognac Figs; Spiced Pepita Brittle; Sweet Potato with Torched Marshmallows; and Black Currant Lambic Sorbet.

I am officially done with first semester of senior year!! Today I am unwinding after a long week of exams and making the 12 hour treck to Boston for a month. Today I am sharing with you a delicious holiday drink to try over the next few weeks! It is a spin off the traditional mojito which I always think of as a summery drink... it is a cranberry CHRISTMAS MOJITO! It is really really easy to make! You can follow the recipe {here} and for an even simpler way to make the cocktail you can just use already made cranberry juice and forgo the simmering and cooling of the fresh cranberries. Cheers!

• If you have a narrow face and you'd like to make it seem more balanced, be generous with blush: Apply it on the cheekbones and the apples of the cheeks.

• To minimize a large forehead, sweep an illuminating bronzer along your hairline, creating a shadow across the top of your face—remember to blend well! Also, try a dramatic lip to draw attention downward.

• If you're looking for cheekbone definition without a stripy, 1980s effect, try sweeping your regular blush on the apples of the cheeks in a circular motion and dabbing a shimmery cream in a horizontal line above it, blending outward.
